Lyon, 12 November-- BioVision, The World Life Sciences Forum, announces its sixth edition to take place 8-11 March 2009 at the Lyon Convention Centre, France : the quest for solutions continues!

“Life Sciences’ Challenging Role in our Expanding Cities” is the theme that will bring together 3,000 people for 3 ½ days of passionate debate to actively seek solutions. A focus on urbanization and the transition towards a massively urban world population will complement a parallel program of in-depth focus on advances in the life sciences themselves. Discussions will take place in plenaries and thematic sessions and smaller debates over dinner.

Participants from the sciences, including several Nobel Laureates; industry leaders, CEOs, presidents and vice presidents of worldwide companies; leaders of government and multilateral organizations; and civil society and NGO representatives will travel to Lyon, France for this sixth edition of BioVision, marking an ongoing commitment to recent achievements in life sciences and technologies.

The purpose of the debates is to establish dialogue among communities that do not normally meet, bringing new people together to make concrete recommendations on the way to move forward, and to inform the public of the latest scientific developments. Results will be published in The BioVision Solutions Manifesto, with detailed scientific reporting and an overview of solutions and recommendations.

Two additional important gatherings will be held during BioVision in Lyon 8-11 March:

BioVision.Nxt, a networking meeting of 100 young professionals in sciences, hi-tech, NGOs and politics, who will contribute their vision to the BioVision project;

BioSquare, convening biotech and life sciences companies to one of the most well-attended biotech partnering conventions in the world, where top business development executives from biotech and large corporations meet major investors and national delegations to do business.

BioVision, The World Life Sciences Forum, is an independent and non-profit institution operated by the Fondation Scientifique de Lyon et du Sud-Est.
